XL3 Inline Mini Process Viscosity Meter

XL3 Inline Mini Process Viscosity Meter

The XL3 is Hydramotion’s super lightweight “mini” in line viscometer, created for applications where you need
reliable viscosity measurement without the cost or complexity of a fully featured system. It delivers the same
core Hydramotion performance benefits high stability, high sensitivity, and immunity to process noise in a compact,
price competitive package designed for straightforward deployment in safe area installations.

To keep the XL3 accessible for more price sensitive projects, the instrument is supplied as a standardised,
non configurable unit. This reduces manufacturing complexity and supports off the shelf availability, while still
providing everything needed for dependable day to day viscosity monitoring.

Key features

  • Compact inline design with a ¾” BSPP standard fitting
  • Optimised for lower temperature processes (under 100 °C)
  • Low viscosity range (0 to 5,000 cP)
  • Standalone smart head electronics for simple installation
  • Integral temperature sensor for line temperature measurement
  • Signal outputs with single analogue output and optional RS485
  • Dual certified 316L construction
  • VLink configuration software support
  • Safe Area only

Why it works so well

  • No calibration required
  • No maintenance and no moving parts
  • High integrity signals suitable for long distance runs
  • Fast deployment with simple wiring and standardised setup
  • Stable and sensitive measurement even in noisy process environments

Optional interface

The XL3 can be supplied as a standalone viscometer, with the VP250 available as an optional processor for local
display and plant integration, depending on your site requirements.

Typical applications

The XL3 is ideal for less onerous, high volume processes where cost sensitivity matters, such as paints, inks,
coatings, starch, and similar applications. It is also well suited to OEM builds where a compact, standardised
viscosity sensor helps protect margins while maintaining measurement reliability.
