Spectrometers for industrial processes and the laboratory.

Single or multi-component analysis and concentration measurement.

Tec5 is a leading supplier of industrial fiber optic UV-VIS-NIR spectrometer systems for analyzing solutions in industrial processes and in the laboratory. Process spectrometers are based on Diode Array detector technology (PDA) and uses Tec5’s new MultiSpec®Pro software.

Lisco Analytical partners with Tec5 on projects and support, and uses their technology to solve specific applications.

Real time in-line measurement and recording of spectra provides information about the process medium composition, concentration, and other chemical parameters in liquids and gases. Process spectrometers provide a “fingerprint of the process,” which is used for monitoring and controlling the process, trace analysis, quality control, environmental control, etc.

Process Analytical Technology (PAT)

Pharmaceutical production uses spectroscopic techniques in the implementation of PAT (Process Analytical Technology). The measurement of critical process parameters with in-line spectrometers helps to ensure optimal process monitoring and safety in production units, which leads to reduced production costs, improved product quality, and improved safety in the production environment.

Delivery Program

  • Compact Spec® II Process Spectrometer
  • MultiSpec® UV-VIS-NIR Systems
  • MultiSpec® Raman Spectrometer System

Spectrometers

CompactSpec® II is a fast and robust UV-VIS-NIR spectrometer system in a cabinet of stainless steel (IP54) with an integrated PC and TFT touch screen. The system is available with different spectral ranges and wavelength resolution. The integrated spectrometer modules are high performance long-term stable optical components from Carl Zeiss, which have high reliability and no moving parts. Fast and robust multiplexer technology allows for the measurement of up to 8 channels without losing speed and stability. A separate reference channel guarantees drift free measurements. Fiber optics combined with insertion probes and flow cells allow for direct measurement in pipes or reaction vessels. By default, the Compact Spec® II is equipped with a vortex cooling device to withstand the high temperatures of the surrounding enviornment.

CompactSpec® II EExp is a pressurized EEx-version for mounting in hazardous production areas. This means that it can use short optical fiber cables to prevent loss of light by attenuation.

Advantages of CompactSpec® II

  • Perfectly suited for demanding process applications
  • Modern detector array technology with no moving parts
  • Available spectral range: 190 – 2150 nm
  • Fast, accurate, and robust
  • No drifting due to internal references
  • Standard fiber optic SMA connector
  • Electrical and optical multiplex technology
  • Stable long-life lamps.
  • Available in EExp explosion safe version (ATEX certified)
  • Process communication via OPC, Profibus or analog and digital I / O (Option)
  • Solarization free (SB) UV fiber optic technology (optional)
  • Supplied with MultiSpec® Pro, a powerful software package with modules for data analysis such as chemometric models (with interface to The Unscrambler, Sensor Logic, GRAMS) and color measurements

MultiSpec® PRO II Systems

MultiSpec® ® is a modular spectrometer system that incorporates a flexible 19″-Create design. This system gives a rapid and simultaneous read-out of the UV-VIS-NIR and Raman. Various spectral range, wavelength resolution, and PC interfaces are available. Complete spectra can be obtained in milliseconds. The integrated spectrometer modules are high performance long-term stable optical components from Carl Zeiss, which have high reliability and no moving parts. Modern multiplexer technology makes it possible to implement multi-channel measurements for up to 8 points. The standardized SMA connectors on the front panel allow fiber optics and various probes to be easily connected.

MultiSpec® with laser Raman fiber optic probe is used to determine the chemical structure of a substance within a substance or to determine “fingerprint” identification.

Advantages of MultiSpec® System

  • Robust and fast detector array technology
  • Complete spectra obtained within milliseconds
  • Possible spectral ranges from 190-2170 nm * respectively. 300 – 3100 cm-1 (Raman)
  • Modular concept offers high flexibility
  • Communications interface for all process control systems, e.g. OPC, Profibus, Analog and Digital
  • Process software – specific software modules for different applications (e.g. color measurement and Chemometrics)
  • Program Interfaces (SDK) for Windows and LabVIEW
  • Simultaneous operation of up to 8 sample channels *
  • Parallel operation of different spectrometer types (e.g. NIR with UV-VIS)
  • Light source with long life and high stability (Xe flash, halogen, deuterium)
  • No drifting due to internal references
  • Standard SMA interface for connecting fiber optics and probes
  • Complete system options for industrial PC, integrated in a 19″ rack (optional)

*Depending on the type of spectrometer
